You guys, when I say I grew up in the woods, I’m not kidding. This was my backyard, and I wouldn’t change a thing!
Some of you know that I went home for a few days in July to visit my family. My five days in New Hampshire were filled with quick visits with friends, a family reunion, church, and eating as much home cooked food as possible. (My mom made sure she made all of our favorite things!) One of my goals when I went home on vacation was to photograph my childhood home. It ended up being a quick project thanks to killer mosquitoes (seriously if I’d stayed out there much longer I’m pretty sure they would have sucked me dry.) The images aren’t perfect, but I’m thankful that I have them!
Mom, Katie, and I also went on a brief excursion to Rye and Portsmouth (the ocean) during which time we remembered that seaweed smells gross and realized that we should have checked the tides and planned our trip around them. (It was still worth it, truly.) I got my lobster roll so I was happy.

On our way back we stopped at this fantastic ice cream place that had Pink Peppermint Stick ice cream. My sister and I were ecstatic – it was the exact same flavor that we grew up choosing every single time we went to River Side Dairy Joy, a local hangout with ridiculous ice cream! (Yes, that is a kiddie cone.)
I’ll just leave that right there…
Coming soon to the blog – photos from my family reunion!
